This course will examine the study of the African diaspora, the influence of African culture in South America. It will introduce religious, social, and contemporary dance forms through a historical perspective of African identity in Brazil. |

This course will meet online beginning in February - March. When weather permits, this class will be moved to outdoors/in-person.

Examinations and Assignments: Due to the need to practice safe social distancing as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, this course is a hybrid in-person course accepting limited remote students the course will transition into a fully online experience. Remote students should consider the environments/spaces they will take class from in order to permit safe full-bodied explorations. The By enrolling in the course, you pledge to wear a mask and practice safe social distancing (at least 6 feet apart) for the entire duration of each in-person class session. You also acknowledge that the instructor has the right to ask you to leave the class should you fail/choose to not observe these safe practice protocols at any time. |
