This course will explore the dominance of Japanese Horror from Edo period to contemporary films. Students will read theory of Horror in addition to primary texts.

Essential Capabilities: Intercultural Literacy, Interpretation
Students will be asked to re-examine the definition of the seemingly universal notion of ¿horror¿ as a critically social, political and gendered contexts.
