Introduction to Nonfiction Techniques

This course is an introduction to the genre, with a focus on texts about home and exile. We will read essays and books that can be characterized as (and often mingle) memoir, political history, travel literature, and profile. Students will hone their skills as nonfiction readers and writers through a variety of exercises, experiments, and longer creative and critical essays.
