This course will explore the problems and problem-solving techniques of the annual William Lowell Putnam mathematical competition. Particular emphasis will be placed on learning to write clear and complete solutions to problems. The competition is open to all undergraduate students. |

Additional Requirements and/or Comments:
The class will meet on these dates: Sept. 18, 25; Oct. 2, 9, 16, 30; Nov. 6, 13; and the final exam on the first Saturday in December, Dec. 1st. Attendance at six or more classes, completion of five or more homework assignments, AND attendance at the final exam are required for credit. The class will meet in SCIE 618. This course cannot be used as the 200-level math course needed for AP credit. |
