This course is based on a book by the same name by a physics professor at UC-Berkeley. This course for non-science students covers the physics of terrorism, energy, nukes, space, and global warming. The premise is that future presidents (and citizens) must be well informed about the physics of such topics that are the headlines of today's newspapers, in order to make educated and wise decisions for tomorrow. |

Essential Capabilities:
Effective Citizenship, Quantitative Reasoning
Quantitative Reasoning: This course discusses mathematical and physical models that explain quantitatively how our world works.
Effective Citizenship: This course discusses topics of relevance for all citizens who intend to participate effectively and responsibly in the political process. Examples are: nuclear weapons, terrorism, global warming, and energy.
