Advanced Research Seminar in Ethnic Minority Psychology

In this course, students will learn about research on emotions and culture among ethnic minority groups. Small teams of students will design a research project related to the topic of the seminar and will carry out these research projects during the semester. Students will learn about all aspects of a research project, e.g., how to develop an appropriate research question, how to create a study design, how to collect data, how to interpret results. |

Examinations and Assignments: Students will work on a research project in small groups throughout the semester. At the end of the semester, a written research report and a presentation is required. |
Additional Requirements and/or Comments: Only one Wesleyan Univ. course can be taken as non-graded towards the major. Preference will be given to students who have taken Psyc 265 'Culture in Psychology: An Introduction to Theory and Research', and a Statistics course.
At the end of the semester the students will write up a research report and also give a presentation of their project and findings. I will meet with the students once a week to discuss readings and research projects. |
