Poetics of the Short-Short
ENGL 322
Spring 2013
| Section:
01
|
This course investigates the genre of the modern short-short story, stories less than 1,000 words, a playful, provocative form that exploded during the 20th century and continues to be a vehicle for unique approaches to form, style, and narrative. Students will try their hand at their own short-shorts. Through discussions of the reading, craft studies, analytic papers, creative exercises, and comparative studies, students will develop their own ideas about the work. |
