This is a feet to the fire course that will introduce students to diverse methodologies for conducting research on riparian systems. The course will give students an opportunity to explore the Connecticut River, its ecology, culture and history in order to understand the role it plays in our lives. Students will explore these topics through scientific data, hands-on learning and movement. Course related research will be conducted in multiple ways to understand environmental topics. This course is part of Feet to the Fire and the Creative Campus Initiative (www.wesleyan.edu/creativecampus). |

The course will be co-taught by Teaching Fellow Helen Poulos, and Creative Campus Fellow Jill Sigman, Artistic Director of jill sigman/thinkdance. The course will meet approximately once a week and will have a day-long intensive on Sunday, January 25 and a week-long intensive during spring break.
