This is an immersive workshop for students working at a rigorous, committed level of playwriting. We will focus on long-form as students begin, develop, and rewrite full-length plays, challenging themselves to expand their technique as they articulate their creative vision. Examinations of craft and art will spring dynamically from each student's individual work in the workshop setting. |

Readings will be assigned to individual students based on their plays.

Examinations and Assignments: Students will write and rewrite a full-length play, and ultimately cast and direct readings of their plays. Additionally, students will be expected to write responses for all individually assigned readings. |
Additional Requirements and/or Comments: Application required: submit hard copy 10-page playwriting sample to the Theater Department office by November 7, 2014
For the Writing Certificate, this course counts as an elective course and as a workshop. |
