Social Psychophysiology

This seminar aims to introduce students to current physiological methods and finding within social psychological research. Course readings will examine how psychophysiological techniques can be used to examine stress, intergroup interaction, emotion, health, and person-perception. Course topics include social psychophysiology and embodiment, biopsychosocial models of challenge and threat, neuroendocrine models of social evaluative threat, cortisol and prejudice, oxytocin, facial electromyography and emotion, event-related potential, and psychoneuroimmunology.
