This course offers students the opportunity to pursue in-depth advanced work in sociological theory. Students develop close reading strategies to directly engage primary texts from a variety of traditions and perspectives. The seminar requires careful analysis of books and essays that frequently assume a specialized lexicon and grammar. Students enrolled in the course will have already demonstrated a command of foundational material through successful completion of SOC212 or other course work in social theory. |
