Drawing on multiple approaches to dance techniques and the moving body, this course will build on the capacities developed in Modern Technique II. Students will be encouraged to cultivate greater awareness of space, time, and energy, as well as a wider range of dynamic variation and more sophisticated understanding of kinetic alignment. |

Examinations and Assignments: Completion of 4 short reading assignments along with 1 to 2 page response essays. Students will also be required to complete mid-semester and end of semester self evaluations and conferences with the instructor. |
Additional Requirements and/or Comments: Requirements for this studio course include regular attendance, promptness, and thoughtful participation in all aspects of the class.
This course will be taught by Visiting Instructor, Bronwen McArthur on Monday/Wednesday. On Fridays the course is part of the ongoing "Friday Visiting Artist Series." The first 6 classes will be taught by Ernest Feldon Baker and the second - 6-weeks will be taught by alum, Abigail Levine. This makes it possible for students to experience a variety of work from people currently in the field teaching in different genres. |
