This course applies macroeconomic theory and econometric tools to evaluate the empirical evidence on the timing and effect of monetary policy decisions on the economy. The course will explore several transmission channels of monetary policy, such as the interest rate, asset price, and credit channels. Students will read about and evaluate key empirical results in the current literature throughout the semester and write a research paper of their own. |
