Topics include application of social psychology to social problems, application to practical problems in groups and organizations, and how to design and evaluate a social psychological intervention. |

Additional Requirements and/or Comments: Psyc 105 is a prerequisite. How do we use what we know about human behavior to address large scale social problems? How can organizations use social psychology to improve performance and address practical problems? How do we evaluate if our intervention had the intended effect? This course offers an overview of how social psychology is used to influence human behavior across domains such as mental and physical health, education, sustainability, social justice, diversity and inclusion, job performance, and sports.
Approximately 2/3 of course time will consist of lectures focus on the application of social psychological theories to social problems and practical problems. Approximately 1/3 of course time will consist of class discussions and in-class activities. |
