Additional Requirements and/or Comments: -All newly hired Writers Room staff will enroll in the Ford Seminar to deepen their knowledge and skill sets around writing and writing instructions and tutoring. Students will read about historical and present approaches to writing education in higher education, learn about the histories and politics of Writing Center work in higher education, and engage with a variety of approaches to one-on-one writing support with a focus on dis/ability, race and ethnicity, multilingualism and linguistic justice, and gender and sexuality. Additionally, students will practice one-on-one tutoring practices, engage deeply in their own writing process and relationships to literacy, and observe other sessions to increase their repertoires.
Assignments include weekly readings and reflections, literacy narrative, observations, and a final genre project.
