This course may be repeated for credit. |
Civic Engagement Practice will provide a pathway for Wesleyan students to earn .25 credit (credit/unsatisfactory) for their successful completion of a volunteer placement with an organization or project designed to positively impact civic life. To receive credit, students must satisfy the requirements of a volunteer placement and meet the course's specific learning requirements.
Students complete short assignments and a final reflective essay, while also attending select events throughout the semester to enhance their ability for civic participation (issue knowledge, skills, and civic identity). It is helpful for participants to reflect on their experience throughout the semester and to have a record of volunteer experience, lessons learned, and progress made in understanding professional, personal and academic goals. |
