Nicholas Ray and Robert Bresson are two master filmmakers who had opposite cinematic approaches to express their deep spiritual struggles. We are going to compare these two seekers, as a way to deepen our understanding of film style. This is a hybrid studies and practice course. Assignments will be screenplays and short analytical papers. |

Examinations and Assignments:
-One 3-5 page screenplay with 3-5 page analytical paper included. -One 12 page screenplay. -Lead a discussion. |
Additional Requirements and/or Comments:
-This course does not accept unexcused absences and does not accept late work. All absences must be cleared before the beginning of class. Excused absences equal family emergency, illness, or religious holiday.
