ASLD 101 and ASLD 102, Elementary ASL I and II respectively, are an introduction to communication in ASL. You will acquire a beginner's vocabulary and grammar while building a preliminary understanding of the Deaf perspective on life.
The course will be taught primarily in ASL and with clarifications in written English as needed. The course activities will provide you with ample opportunities to practice communication in ASL as much as possible. Because of the absence of a standardized written system for ASL, you will submit recorded videos in many assignments. |

A computer with a camera and access to Moodle and TWA on the internet are required. Mandatory class attendance and active participation in all course activities. You will sign in the classroom before your classmates, and your recorded videos may be viewed in class. |
