Critical Global Health STS 201 Spring 2026 Section: 01   This course explores the medical, social, political, and economic dimensions of the global health enterprise. Topics covered include (1) the history of the term "global health" and the field of science and practice to which it refers; (2) struggles over expertise, ethics, and governance that characterize the enterprise; (3) the unintended consequences of global health interventions for health and social life; and (4) alternative, decolonial epistemologies for fostering a healthier world.
