In this comparative literature class, we will explore the theme of death through the study of poems and novels by Francophone writers from France, Belgium, Senegal, China and Morocco. We will trace the evolution of death imagery in French and Francophone literature over time, focusing on both poetry and short stories. The curriculum will also delve into the environmental and linguistic contexts, providing a nuanced understanding of how the portrayal of death has transformed in these literary works. |
