|
CHEM 102Z is a compressed-schedule, summer-only, online course. This course will introduce the fundamental concepts of organic chemistry in order to better understand the myriad of organic compounds that we encounter in our everyday lives. This course would be appropriate as either a general-education science course or as a preparatory course for Organic Chemistry I. Topical coverage will include a broad survey of organic functional groups, including their nomenclature, physical properties, and general reactivity, as well as some exposure to how these functional groups are incorporated into biologically important molecules. |
