This First Year Seminar explores im/migration and mobility in the United States, from the nineteenth century to the present day. Alongside exploring key themes in the U.S. history of migration and mobility, students will be introduced to historical methods while developing their critical reading, writing, and thinking in a collaborative and supportive environment. Students will read across a variety of texts, from historical sources to foundational scholars in the study of migration and mobility. We will also visit Special Collections & Archives and work with a variety of non-textual sources including films and music. |
