This course is the first half of a two-semester general chemistry laboratory sequence that fulfills general chemistry laboratory requirements for majors, minors, and premedical studies. Students learn and practice chemical safety and hygiene, foundational experimental techniques, and the collection, analysis, and communication of scientific data. The curriculum is designed to accompany CHEM 141, but Honors General Chemistry (CHEM 145) students should also complete the CHEM 141L/142L laboratory sequence to satisfy program requirements.
CHEM 141L must be taken concurrently with or after completion of general chemistry coursework.
Students who place directly into CHEM 251 through advanced placement should enroll in CHEM 257 instead. |
