In this seminar, students will learn interdisciplinary methods for conducting focused research and fieldwork to study socioecological collapse and importantly, possibilities for composing, assembling, designing more livable, more than human pluriverse. The course will be structured around two real-world case studies and field trips, including the restoration of chestnut trees in/around CT, and the transformation of a birch forest surrounding a decommissioned power plant in Manresa, CT. Course readings and activities will draw from the fields of Science and Technology Studies (STS), Environmental Sciences and Humanities, and Media Arts/Design. |
