This course focuses on the individual, not the group, to develop an individual¿s personal improvisational practice and language system. The course will help students learn how to create musical forms, harmonic structures, rhythmic progressions, sonic landscapes, and melodic ideas within a completely open improvisational setting. The course will also teach students how to develop practice methods that will improve instrumental technique. |

Additional Requirements and/or Comments:
Students must be able to play musical instrument proficiently. Also have a working knowledge of some music theory. This course will have historical, compositional, and performing components. |
