This course introduces students to practical helping, prevention, and response skills that strengthen community well-being and public life both on and off campus. Through a series of interactive trainings led by WesWell staff, students will develop foundational skills in bystander intervention, survivor support, suicide prevention, overdose response, recovery allyship, and emotional fitness. In addition, students will engage in reflection, discussion, and applied scenario practice to consider broader questions of leadership, ethical responsibility, and community care. The course asks students to think about how ordinary people shape the quality of public life through the ways they respond to distress, harm, risk, and one another. |
