Junior Economics Tutorial: Historical Political Economy

Political economy analyzes how political forces (e.g., voters, interest groups) affect the economy. It assesses how the economy affects politics (e.g., via political business cycles). And it uses the tools of economics to analyze politics. This tutorial will study how economists and political scientists have applied the tools of political economy to historical policy measures in the United States and Europe, focusing on the period from the American Revolution through the Great Depression.
