This course typically follows GRST101 and 102 or GRST105.
Its goal is to continue the development of all the language skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Students will be introduced to major works of literature as well as nonliterary authentic texts while reviewing German grammar. A video component in the course will enhance students' language skills and expose them to the diversity of German culture via authentic footage from a major German television network. Students who satisfactorily complete this course are eligible for study in Regensburg on the Vanderbilt-Wesleyan-Wheaton Program.

Essential Capabilities: Intercultural Literacy, Speaking, Writing
Intercultural literacy and applied linguistics: Through class activities, assignments and with the use of authentic materials, students will gain an understanding of new cultural concepts and values which will help them develop intercultural literacy.
