This is the second semester of a two-semester survey of European intellectual history. This course will examine some of the major texts in Western thought since the Renaissance. Emphasis will be placed on close reading and analysis of literary, political, and philosophical texts.

Essential Capabilities: Logical Reasoning, Writing
This reading and writing class will stress forms of argumentation and logical reasoning at all stages.
