This lecture and discussion course will focus on the psychology of judgment and decision making. The aims of this course are to explore normative economic and mathematical decision theoretic models of judgment and decision making, and to compare these models with descriptive data from cognitive psychology. In the process, we will think about decision making in a variety of domains, as well as ways of improving decision making. While only introductory psychology is formally required, preference will be given to students with prior coursework in cognitive psychology, experimental research methods, and statistics in the social sciences. |
