Course Cluster: Queer Studies

This course will explore a range of Christian teachings on, attitudes toward, and technologies of gender and sexuality. We will read medieval and modern theologies of and about sex, as well as contemporary historical, cultural, and theological studies. Points of focus will include confession, mysticism, marriage, ordination, celibacy, reproduction, colonial and anti-colonial sexualities, Christian constructions of race, and queer and transgender critiques and appropriations of the tradition.
