This class builds upon the course content covered in Drawing I (ARST131).As we continue to draw from observation, topics will include an in-depth exploration of the figure, anatomical aspects of the human form, color,and the use of different spatial solutions. This course also introduces a concept-based approach to drawing, which explores narrative, process,sequence, and content. A variety of media and techniques are to be used. Further, the development of individual style and studio methodology is an aim in this class. |

FULL CLASSROOM ATTENDANCE IS EXPECTED. Grades will be based on the quality and ambitiousness of out-of-class assignments, citizenship in the class,and the progress evident in class work, and the final portfolio. Admission to the course is by interview with the instructor, and by portfolio review. A portfolio containing no more than ten (10) works on paper should be presented. Interviews will take place during the pre-registration period. Interview times will be Tuesday, November 11 10 - 3 AWKS 105 and Monday, November 17, 4-7 AWKS 105. Lab fee $175.00 to be used in partial support of model salaries and for drawing paper, and classroom materials. The essentials for this class will be purchased for you and you will receive them the first day of class. |
