The course will present material in the following three general subject areas: --Data Management (including a discussion of relational databases and SQL) --Probability and Information Theory (including a discussion of random variables, distributions, and entropy) --Data Analysis (including a discussion of various descriptive and predictive models) The overall focus of the course will be on the presentation of techniques and results that are broadly applicable in the field of information science. |
