This is a basic course in creating and performing choreography with emphasis on the diversity of techniques and methods available to the choreographer. Assignments will revolve around inventing, organizing, and evaluating movement in a variety of dance styles including modern, jazz, ballet, and others.

Essential Capabilities: Designing, Creating, and Realizing
The focus of this course is the process of designing, creating and realizing a composition in movement. We accomplish this, over the course of the semester by exploring various methods for movement invention, various compositional structures. We present
