| Certificates: Environmental Studies |
This class will examine how Earth's natural systems operate and how many of these functions are altered by human activity. Basic principles of atmospheric science, ecology, environmental chemistry, geosciences, and hydrology will be covered as they relate to topics such as pollution, climate change, and energy resources. Students will learn where to access and how to interpret scientific information related to environmental issues. This course is one of the gateway courses for the earth and environmental sciences major. |

The class meets for an extra session on Thursdays to allow us to take three field trips and to provide time for group work. |
