This course offers an introduction to accounting and business decisions: balance sheets, income statements, and sources and uses of funds; capital budgeting; cost of capital; the link between accounting records and economic analysis. Emphasis is placed on the uses of present-value techniques.

Hour test, quizzes, final examination as scheduled by the registrar, project and frequent problem sets. Answers to problem sets will often be discussed in class.

Students who complete ECON 229 cannot receive credit towards the ECON or MECO major for ECON 329, or vice versa depending on your needs for major credit.
