Literature and Crisis
FREN 379
Spring 2022 not offered

Literature and Crisis focuses on the following question: How did writers in 20th-century France address historical crises in their works? We investigate the various ways in which writing dealt with war and its aftermath, immigration, women's issues, and the AIDS crisis. Denial, indifference, violence, and political commitment were among the possible responses.
