Advanced Seminar in German Literature

This course offers German majors and other interested students an opportunity to explore a significant topic in German literature within a chronological context. The topic for 2008 is the role of religion and other belief systems as a force in individuals' lives and in society.

Essential Capabilities: Interpretation, Writing
Interpretation: emphasis on style and structure of readings & interpretive approaches

Writing: weekly exercises in a wide variety of styles; revision with close attention to grammar
