Comparative Constitutional Politics GOVT 373 Spring 2007 Section: 01   This course examines constitutional interpretation, conceived as a broadly political, legal, and literary enterprise, in the United States, The Federal Republic of Germany, Canada, Japan, Australia, Italy, Ireland, and sometimes India. Our purpose is to understand how a variety of constitutional democracies have chosen to conceptualize, and to resolve, a number of basic problems inherent in the ideal and practice of constitutional government.
