Intermediate Italian II

This course is the second half of the two-semester intermediate sequence (111 and 112) and is designed to increase and refine students¿ confidence and ability to read, write, speak and understand the language. Students are guided through more complex grammatical structures and more challenging cultural material.
Course materials allow students to explore culturally relevant topics and to develop cross-cultural skills through the exploration of analogies and differences between their native culture and the Italian world, thus building a bridge of cultural and linguistic awareness. Language skills are strengthened through oral, written, aural and reading activities, which provide practice of linguistic forms and challenge the student¿s creative and interpretative skills. Class is conducted entirely in Italian.

This course offers students a variety of opportunities to develop their ability to speak and understand Italian, while exploring similarities and differences between their native culture and the Italian world.
