Advanced Topics in Theoretical Physics
PHYS 575
Fall 2015
Section: 01

This graduate course presents advanced topics in theory of relevance for current research in the department. The specific material varies each time the course is taught.

In Fall 2015, the course will survey structural and dynamic features of soft matter, with an emphasis on liquids. The physics of liquids is important from everything from "garden variety" liquids that are relatively well understood, to complex systems like polymer composites, films, biological membranes and gels. Students are expected to take initiative to question and analyze material in class.
