Applied Quantitative Methods in Survey Research
PSYC 307

This hands-on seminar provides advanced and applied experience in survey research. Students will have the opportunity to develop skills in 1) conducting an in-depth literature review, 2) evaluating the content of scientific literature, 3) generating testable hypotheses that add substantially to their chosen area of psychological research; 4) locating and gaining access to publicly available data; 5) preparing data for analysis, 6) selecting and conducting descriptive and inferential analyses that address their chosen hypotheses; 7) presenting research findings; and 8) evaluating implications. Students will also learn computer software packages utilized throughout the research process including SAS, Endnote, and Power point.
