This course explores the role of intellectual investigation and critical analysis in creative processes. Through individual and collaborative research, students will engage in the close reading of play texts within theoretical, performative, and aesthetic frames. In the spring of 2012, the course will focus on the plays of award-winning playwrights. |

Students are required to revise drafts of each assignment with a tutor at the Writing Workshop. |

Special focus is placed on communication; students are expected to apply the fours modes of literacy (speaking, reading, writing and listening). It is your responsibility to schedule meeting times in advance. There is a link to the Writing Workshop at Wesleyan's Web page. I will not read papers that have not been revised with a writing tutor. |
