Global Warming: The Past, Present, and Day After Tomorrow
E&ES 110
Fall 2006 not offered

Is the Earth warming? Should we care? Global warming is a rare example of a science topic that has entered our cultural landscape at all levels, from dinnertime conversation to government policy. The primary goal of this course is to develop an intellectual understanding of the global warming debate. Emphasis will be placed on three sub-topics: the science of global warming, the concept of uncertainty and its role in scientific debates, and the ancient record of climate change and how this record bears on the present-day and future.
