This seminar-style course offers students with prior experience writing creative nonfiction a chance to develop new work and discuss intensively a range of twentieth-century and contemporary nonfiction. Class meetings will focus on the constructive analysis of essays submitted by members of the workshop, of this published work, and of the ethical and theoretical issues raised by this genre. Assignments will include several essays, a number of revisions, and short response papers on the readings. A portfolio of work completed during the semester is due at the final class meeting. |
