This course examines the metaphysical and ethical issues surrounding the practice of ecological restoration through the questions of 1) What is natural?, Where is the distinction between nature and culture? 2) What is the role of ecology in guarding our practice?, Is there a place for non-scientific values/narratives? 3) How do places embody natural and cultural elements?, What role do they play in human development?
